British 10k London Run
On Sunday July 11th we had 25 runners (50 feet!) on board to help us celebrate our 50th anniversary by running 10k around central London.
We were also particularly pleased to have our new Chairman Koy Thomson running his inaugural race alongside 10k veteran and fellow trustee Adam Edwards. The sun came out after the race and everybody descended on St James' park to celebrate with a picnic and a well earned goody bag stuffed with treats from Australian Bodycare, Divine Chocolate, Suma and Tropical Wholefoods.
A big thank you to all our 50 feet for choosing to run for us!
Congratulations FYF 10k team 2009!
Having run through the heart of London on July 6th, they went on to collect a fantastic £7063.55 in sponsorship money. This money could really help rural families in India and Malawi to lift themselves out of poverty by:

"What an amazing day! When I ran 10k for FYF in 2008 it was fun....but this was even better. What a great way to celebrate FYF's 50th anniversary. Sign me up for the next one please!" Charmian Walker-Smith, FYF 10k member 2010.
Our runners had perfect running weather and ran amazingly fast times. One of our runners, Timothy Johnston, finished in 39 minutes, putting him among the top 100 runners (out of a total 25,000 runners!)
Our runners are now going to begin the work of collecting their well earned sponsorship money. The money they raise really will make a massive difference to the lives of those living in rural poverty in India and Malawi.
FYF had a fantastic team running in the British 10K 2009.
