At Find Your Feet we believe that a 'business as usual' approach to agriculture is not an option. New solutions to new problems are needed and science and technology must play an important role. But we also need alternatives to monocultures and fossil fuels. We promote agroecology - agricultural systems that more closely mimic natural ecosystems that have served poor farmers for millenia. These resource-conserving approaches reorient attention from single crops to diversified risk-reducing strategies that mitigate the effects of climatic unpredicability and return control to poor farmers." FYF Director, Dr Dan Taylor The position papers below draw on our in-depth knowledge and experience of what seems to be working best for poor farmers. Please also visit The Guardian, The Ecologist, The Evening Standard and Pambazuka for articles and comments that Dan has written on Sustainable Agriculture and Agroecology.
