India Team

Savitri Sharma, has been India Country Director (based in Lucknow) since 2000. She has 20 years of varied development experience from working in grassroots organisations to Care International.

Savitri and her team help vulnerable families in India to:

• Set up small businesses

   

• Develop sustainable agricultural practices

   

• Access basic services including clean water, healthcare and education

   

• Support people to access their entitlements under government schemes (eg pensions)

   

• Have a voice in their community

   

• Access HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment and care services

   

• Address women's needs and rights

   

The team at the India office work closely with the Saksham Trust, an independent resource organisation.

Together with the Saksham Trust we train our partners in India in organisational development, capacity building, leadership skills, innovation and learning, networking and management support.
