The journey of your £25 and its life changing impact in Malawi...It costs just £25 to train a farmer so they can improve their family's food security and nutrition, and begin to build a future free from poverty. Here's how:
1) Planning and participation
- We meet with the community to understand their needs and aspirations. - Improving their harvest is the priority.
2) A farmer receives training in low-input sustainable farming practices
- The farmer will be able to learn sustainable farming practices including composting, crop diversification and organic pest control.
3) The farmer's family now have more food
- The family has better nutrition and is less vulnerable to illness. - Children are well enough to attend school, enabling them to learn the skills they need to build a future free from poverty.
4) With a further £150 the farmer can receive more training to become a lead farmer and train others
- A lead farmer can go on to train up to 100 other farmers. - Improved harvests mean farmers start to earn an income off the land.
5)100 farmers are trained, 100 families are free from hunger!
The community are now on the path to self-reliance, building a future free from poverty!
£25: the amount you could spend on a week's lunch, will provide a family with the skills they need to never be hungry again. £150: can go a step further, enabling a whole community to build a future free from poverty, forever.

- This improves their harvest and lessens their dependance on expensive fertiliser and food hand-outs.
- The family is healthy and able to work and earn a living.
- Other farmers in the area see the change and want to learn and develop skills so they too can provide for their families.
