Summer Sizzle and Spice
“We are proud to come together to celebrate Find Your Feet’s achievements over the last 50 years, and more importantly, to help make sure more families in rural India and Malawi have enough food to eat not just today but all year round.”
We had about 200 guests and all enjoyed delicious canapés, a signature Johnnie Walker cocktail 'The Long Walker,' and more complementary drinks from Cobra Beer and Enotria Wine. Magician Bharat Patel circulated among the guests performing some truly mystifying magic tricks.
The evening was brought to an exciting finale with an auction hosted by Kiran Patel, one of our most commited supporters. Masterchef winner Dhruv Baker and FYF ambassador Atul Kochhar offered to cook for a dinner party of 12 raising a fantastic £6,000!
Other auction prizes included: Olly Smith signed bottle of wine and his latest book Eat and Drink; Gift voucher for 2 people to attend evening class at London cookery school, The Urban Kitchen; Spa Mist hair treatment; cut and blow dry with stylist; signature manicure at Inanch Hair Design.; Personalised Johnnie Walker bottle; Market in Varanasi by Suchi Chidambaram; O2 mobile broadband USB moden and an O2 CoPilot Satellite Navigation Kit for use with a smart phone, donated by Essentials Phones.
Prizes included a delicious food hamper, a big box of Burt's Crisps and a three month pass to LA Fitness.
Altogether we raised around £15,000 for our important work. A massive thanks to all who helped to make the evening such a success, and to all our guests for their generosity. Zee TV “Out and About” filmed the event; Docklands and City magazine; Bill Knott, FT & The Grove and Nick Harman, Foodepedia also covered the evening. On 20th July, some of London’s finest Indian chefs – Atul Kochhar, Cyrus Todiwala OBE, Navin Bhatia and Vivek Singh - added some spice to Find Your Feet’s 50th Anniversary celebrations by hosting an exclusive event in the beautiful gardens of London’s elegant Dockmasters House restaurant.
Raffle tickets were on sale throughout the evening and all the guests were very generous in buying tickets - meaning that we raised £1,000 through sale of tickets alone.
