"We have enough to eat"
Through (FYF partner) LOMADEF, I've received training in compost-making that means I don't have to rely on expensive fertiliser. With the composting, training in contour ridge-marking and the seeds that I've received from LOMADEF, I've been able to produce enough food to last my family the whole year. Next year, I hope to grow a surplus so that I can improve my income too!" Mable Chango, Malawi. We are currently training 26,760 farmers in Malawi and India in sustainable farming practices that are improving harvests and protecting the soil for future generations. Download an information sheet about sustainable farming practices. By the end of 2011 we aim to train a further 23,740 farmers in sustainable farming practices. This will mean that 50,500 farmers will be able to feed their families all year round and sell a surplus in local markets. Will you help us do this? Donate now. Read more about what we've achieved. |

"I never used to be able to afford enough fertiliser for my land. I couldn't produce enough food to last all year and my family suffered many hungry months.
