The Big Lottery Fund distributes half of the National Lottery good cause funding across the UK. The Fund is committed to bringing real improvements to communities and the lives of people most in need.

The Department for International Development (DFID) is the part of the UK government that manages Britain's aid to poor countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty. DFID is led by a cabinet minister, one of the senior ministers in the government. This in itself is a sign of how determined is the UK government to tackle poverty around the world.

The European Commission is the European Community’s executive body. Led by 27 Commissioners, the European Commission initiates proposals of legislation and acts as guardian of the Treaties. The Commission is also a manager and executor of common policies and of international trade relationships. The Isle of Man Overseas Aid Committee of the Council of Ministers is the Isle of Man Government body responsible for the funding of development aid projects in the world's less developed countries. The Committee is also responsible for providing donations to international emergency/disaster appeals.
