Thanks to your support in 2011 Phulwasa is working with the women in her community to build a future free from hunger and poverty...

Phulwasa is from Mustafapur Village in the Fatehpur District, a rural region of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, she has been involved in a Find Your Feet project for two years. Phulwasa is the Treasurer of her village Self Help Group which has been set up to enable local women to meet twice a month to discuss and resolve the problems and challenges they face. Through the project the group have received agricultural training and now grow enough food to feed their families, along with gaining guidance and support on how to access vital services such as healthcare and education.

“We have received good knowledge from the project and learn how to make our life better. Previously we were not aware of the benefits of education but now our children have a chance at school and to get good jobs in the future so that poverty can be wiped out.”
