About us
|
Our founder Carol Martin was a woman with a vision. Thanks to her for the past 50 years we have been successfully supporting people to tackle the poverty they face. We've achieved a lot and we intend to do much more. |

Since we were founded by Carol Martin in 1960 we have evolved from being an organisation that provides humanitarian aid to one that supports long-term rural development projects. In 2004 we also narrowed our geographical focus to India and Malawi so as to maximise our impact.
We believe in social justice: a world in which everyone has the right to build a future free from poverty.
Our mission is to work with the rural poor, using their own skills and knowledge, to develop sustainable solutions to poverty.
We are committed to supporting the most vulnerable members of society to achieve their full potential.
