About us

Our founder Carol Martin was a woman with a vision. Thanks to her for the past 50 years we have been successfully supporting people to tackle the poverty they face. We've achieved a lot and we intend to do much more.



History

Women in VaranasiSince we were founded by Carol Martin in 1960 we have evolved from being an organisation that provides humanitarian aid to one that supports long-term rural development projects. In 2004 we also narrowed our geographical focus to India and Malawi so as to maximise our impact.
